Congratulations to four of our shareholders for being included in the list of top attorneys in Houston in 2020 by H Texas Magazine. Those attorneys are Nathan Rymer, Clint Echols, Laura Slay and Josh Nelson-Archer.

 

Nathan Rymer successfully prosecuted a Declaratory Judgment action where the federal district court held on a Motion for Summary Judgment that our insurance carrier client had no duty to defend or indemnify the insured for claims involving construction defects where there were no specific allegations of property damage during the insurer’s policy period. Gemini Ins. v. Quick Roofing, LLC, No. 4:19-cv-02793 (S.D. Tex. 2020).

 

We recently negotiated a multi-million dollar settlement in a wrongful death lawsuit that paid the family $3,077,998.53 after all fees and expenses were deducted. This case was filed a result of their loved one being killed in an oil field accident. The family did not pay any fees or expenses to the firm until this settlement was reached.

In a motor vehicle accident where both the driver and passenger (cousins) were killed, the firm successfully negotiated a $517,581.99 settlement from the insurance carrier for the other driver on behalf of the parents of one of the cousins after all fees and expenses were paid. The family did not pay any fees or expenses to the firm until a settlement was reached.

In 2015, the firm obtained a unanimous verdict in a case in which the widow and toddler plaintiffs alleged that a product manufacturer caused the death of the husband and child.

 

In 2015, the firm obtained a unanimous defense verdict for a motorcycle product manufacturing client where a rider lost control of the motorcycle at speeds in the 60 to 65 mile per hour range.
